What is Fasting?
The act of fasting goes back centuries, practiced for both health and spiritual purposes. Enthusiasts promote the practice as healing and life changing. Others see it as an extreme form of dieting leading to eating disorder. At Finding My Psych, we consider fasting, when done in consultation with a healthcare provider, as restorative.
Defining, "Intermittent Fasting"
The intermittent approach to fasting recommends specific fasting and eating timeframes depending on the effect you are looking for. The most popular method is the 16:8 approach. In 16:8, you fast for sixteen hours, and then consume regular daily calories in an eight hour feeding window.
